FIRST print #1. A 16”x16” original linocut cherry blossom print
The row of cherry blossoms on Belle Isle were a gift from Tokyo, Japan symbolizing friendship and loyalty. I wanted to capture their pink hues with the green lawn beneath.
This was a 4-color, hand carved, hand pressed, reduction Lino-cut print on acid free heavy-weight watercolor paper. Each print is signed and numbered to a series of #1-15. THIS is the first print. There will never be the same print made again as additional carvings for the final layer of ink render the final print plate to be unusable.
